In celebration of Money Smart week and Fair Housing Month, this event aims to provide critical financial well-being and housing resources to community members.
In celebration of Money Smart Week and Fair Housing Month, co-collaborators Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission, Cedar Rapids Public Library and Horizons, A Family Service Alliance will hold the first annual “Housing Resource Fair” on Saturday, April 11th, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M at the Downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library. Various organizations, workshops, and resources focusing on financial well-being and housing will be available throughout the event. More details will be posted on the Cedar Rapids Public Library’s website, www.crlibrary.org. This resource fair seeks to provide information and education to all, regardless of your current housing situation.
The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
